Motivational International Yoga Day held at RCERT Sitapua
Regional College for education research and technology organized International Yoga Day. Mr. Gajendra Gautam a Trainer from ART OF LIVING teaches faculty, staff and students about benefits of yoga exercises.
International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June, 2016 every year. This day was internationally recognized by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on December 11, 2014. The idea of an international yoga day was proposed by our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi on September 27, 2014. Mr. Modi proposed the date to be June 21 and mentioned that this is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world. The International Yoga Day was celebrated to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day. Yoga Means Connect mind and body with nature.
The seminar hall was full of faculty, staff and students with Engineering, Polytechnic, Pharmacy and B.Ed students. The session also included yoga exercises which boosted up the all with positive energy. All the participants were highly delighted as the session was full of fun, energy and learning. Everyone got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body. The students and faculty of Regional College for education research and technology of with the trainer performed Yoga between 9 am and 10 am. Different yoga postures like Vrikshasana, Uttaanaasana, Trikonaasana, Bhadrasana, Shashankaasana, Bhujangasana, Pawana Muktaasana,surya namskar finally ended with Pranayama and meditation.
